Church Clubs & Groups Meeting in August 2012
A Walk Around Dublin
Rory Delany will lead two walks around Dublin in aid of the Organ Restoration Fund. The first one will be after church on Sunday 26th August with the thought-provoking theme “St. Bartholomew’s Day” – it will take in St. Patricks’ Cathedral, Nicholas Street, Christ Church Cathedral and parts of the Liberties (but not necessarily in that order). Rory will begin the walk after a quick cup of tea after church on the 26th. The walk lasts about an hour and a half (finishing at latest at 2pm) but walkers are welcome to come and go at any stage. No charge but donations will be taken for the organ fund. There will be a further walk with a different theme (to be decided) on September 9th. Further details in next newsletter.

The church is currently fundraising to spend €250,000 to restore its beautiful J.W. Walker Pipe Organ (1910) at the back of the church. In March 2012, the campaign celebrated its first anniversary by announcing it had raised €48,000 so we’re well on the way but have plenty more to do yet. If you want to help support the project, you can by attending events at the church, buying the various books the church has published or by donating in the church or via Paypal (all credit cards accepted) through our website. If you’re interested in learning more, you should go to www.dublinunitarianchurch.org/restoration .
